"i'm moving in a few days."

i'm moving in a few days.
in short, The Lord placed an opportunity before me, and i had only to accept it.
i'll be a 10-15 minute walk from both wings + horns & garmentory,
and one of my best friends, Della, lives right above me in the building.
undoubtably, the day before and of will be hectic and stressful... like most moves are.
but overall i can only say that i am just tremendously grateful.
every day i am just so overwhelmed by the blessings that God has been pouring into my life.
people, opportunities, friendships, challenges...
i've struggled a ton over certain situations recently- things that i cannot make sense of.
and i know that the only source of true joy that has given me hope and peace is from God, Himself.
when i rely on my own strength, i'm only setting myself up for failure & disappointment.
therefore, i choose to place my trust in the Lord.
He knows my struggles- and He knows exactly how to pull me through.

"On the day I called, you answered me; my strength of soul you increased"
Psalm 138:3

"summer is sweet but fall is cozy."

this was taken on one of our last nice days of summer.
i look forward to fall weather.
summer is sweet but fall is cozy.
it's coffee in the morning and tea before bed.
it's funky patterned socks 'n sneakers.
it's probably leaving your umbrella on the bus... for the third time.
it's spending the night in and baking something warm and comforting.
it's spending the night in and reading the Word.
it's spending the night in and working on that recording that you'd been meaning to do months ago.
it's spending the night in and reflecting on your day. your week. the month.
it's waking up to the pitch black morning & walking to work as the sun is rising.
it's realizing you wore too many layers and having to strip off a layer. or three.
it's soaking in a nice bubbly bath until your fingers have turned to prunes.
it's chilly and damp.
it's Baby's first steps into winter.

There are people I will never know
and their lives will still ensue;
those that could have loved me so
and I'll never wonder who.

Of all the things to come and go,
there is no one else like you.

The things I never think about-
and the only thing I do.

"reminding myself that good things take time"

"i'm teaching myself to slow down, soak in the last bit of summer,
capture every sunset, love deeply with conviction, and put the work away.
i'm reminding myself that good things take time
and important things should always be reoccuring thoughts- thoughts that won't leave you."

"bent over, peeing ourselves laughing".

boyfriend blazer- Aritzia, denim- Zara, thrifted shirt, Adidas Gazelles
surely my most favorite person to snap my photos is my manager, Raekha.
the first few photos are fairly "normal" until 10 seconds in and we are bent over, peeing ourselves laughing.

it may be her photo-snapping stance or absurd commentary... or a bit of both.
evidentially & thankfully, we have the above photos.

it's been a little over two weeks with the new site design on NAways
i've been running NAways since '09 & it was absolutely time for a change.
a huge, warm thank you to the super talented Aina who worked her magic behind the whole dang thang
she was ridiculously quick and made the process simply effortless on my end.
so, so grateful.

some fun, little changes you'll notice:
- a bar to the right that provides my various social media platforms.
- a "categories" list on the right hand side; which will help you sift through more specific topics, by choice, on the site.
- my latest photos posted from my instagram account.
- the "home", "about" and "contact" links at the top, middle of the page.
- my sign-off at the bottom of every post.
- & in general,  just a fresher, cleaner look.

you can find more of Aina's lovely work on her personal site.

Psalm 139

You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways.
Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether.
You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it.
v. 3-6

If I say, "Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night," even
the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you.
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful as your works; my soul knows it very well.
v. 11-14

How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!
If I would count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you.
v. 17-18

Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts!
And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!
v. 23-24

BTS ~ Sarah Mulder Jewelry Shoot

a few behind the scenes photos from a recent shoot I did for Sarah Mulder Jewelry!
at the start it felt a bit strange to step into a fairly girly role for a shoot, as i don't normally
wear much jewelry... or have wavy hair... or often wear skirts, etc.
but in the end, i decided it was refreshing.
something different from my norm.
and we had a blast shooting these.
just a really solid team.
my co-model was Bailey- a real gem of a gal [and insanely beautiful]...
will share the actual photos with you all once they're in!

& just a liiiiiittle sneak...

photography - Kim James
make up - Katie Elwood

PS. you may have noticed that my site doesn't quite look the same as it did last week.
simply because my dear, talented friend, Aina, made some changes-
some creatively wonderful changes...
will update you all on that soon...

all's well~

after work this evening i had what may have been the quickest caffeine date w/ skylar & viranlly.
but nonetheless it was great to be in their company.
we shared laughs... & my cookie.

last night was "Delve" at my church.
a day of fasting and praying and coming together in the evening to worship and pray.
been going through a ton of challenges lately, but just relying on the Lord to get me through it all.
instead of relying on my own strength- just remembering to lay it all before Him and allowing Him to work out all the circumstances in my life, for His glory

...i'm very blessed.
the people i've been surrounded by who've been challenging me in my faith.
encouraging me in my faith.
praying on me.
very thankful.

real talk.

some verses that have really helped me over the past few days:

fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you,
I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.
Proverbs 3:5

Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.
Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
Philippians 2:3-4

It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man.
Psalm 118:8

Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.
Psalm 37:4-5

For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man?
If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.
Galations 1:10

But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:21-23
